Jardin Privé Quality Guarantee
Our cashmere is manufactured in Mongolia and Inner Mongolia. We have chosen our local partners for their ancestral know-how and their ISO 9001 certification (quality management). Our products are entirely made with Grade A cashmere, which corresponds to the finest fibers selected during the collection of Capra Hircus goat down. This means long and fine hair that defines the quality of our products. Our knits are tight, regular, and soft but not too much!
Beware of a touch that is too soft and silky, as it will be more prone to pilling and losing its shape. A fluffy surface suggests that the yarn comes from a shorter and less solid fiber, and the sweater will pill much more.
Environmental Respect
To preserve the environment, our cashmeres do not undergo harmful chemical fixing treatments. You can find all our certifications in our "care" section.
Cashmere Lexicon
The thickness of cashmere is measured by the number of twisted threads together. It is incorrect to believe that the more threads there are, the better the quality. This just gives an idea of the thickness and warmth it will provide us. The more threads there are, the thicker and warmer the sweater.
The gauge indicates the thickness or fineness of the knit. It represents the number of needles per inch on a knitting machine. In general, the higher the number of threads, the wider the gauge.
At Jardin Privé, our basics are made of 2-ply cashmere with a gauge of 12 because they are perfectly suited to our temperate regions. We also offer models in 4-ply cashmere with a gauge of 7, ideal for the depths of winter.
